Why is Stream the subclass of river? Following the current labels on this class it looks as people meant "little river". I propose as hierarchy

  • WaterCourse
    • River (natural)
      • Stream (small)
    • Canal (artificial)

I agree with Johannes, but there seems to be a misunderstanding here. The german translation (Bach) refers to a creek, a small river, and indeed the English term "stream" may mean that. But what is meant here is a generic water stream, not a creek. My German is not the best, but I think it would be something like Wasserlauf oder Wasserstromm oder Strömmung. WaterCourse if better in English, and that is the meaning of the Portuguese label I just entered (curso d’água) and some others already there.
